A limited edition fine art print of The Light that Never Left image, signed and numbered by myself.

This remarkable sunrise occurred on Shetland, I had just dismounted from a boat when the sky filled with this dramatic colour, it was about 01:00. I had just experienced the arrival of the storm petrel on Mousa island, the sounds and smell of these tiny birds flitting around in the near darkness of the Simmer Dim was an experience that will stay with me forever. The Simmer Dim is a phenomenon that occurs during summer in Shetland due to the latitude of the islands, in which there is never a true night, there is always a small amount of light. It is almost like the few moments after the sun has set when there is a blue light cast on to everything but it lasts a couple of hours, there is enough light not to need a torch when walking. The amazing thing is that as the sun rises over the horizon, beautiful and dramatic colours such as this happen and it lasts for a lot longer than a normal sunrise, maybe an hour of this kind of light across the sky. Absolutely amazing!

As a limited edition print there will only be 100 editions made, 25 of which will be framed and 75 of which will be unframed, and this image will only ever be printed at the size of A3, it will never be made into a postcard or available at a different size. I chose A3 as the size for this print because it is neither small nor too large and will fit into most spaces.

As with all of the fine art prints available this image will be printed on archive quality paper, and for this image a premium Cotton Rag paper with a weight of 308 gsm is the perfect paper, giving the print a slight texture.

The 25 framed prints will be mounted and framed in a solid wooden frame. The frames are made to order which means that it could take about 2 weeks until the print is dispatched.

The 75 unframed prints are mounted ready for you to choose your own frame. The print will be protected with paper and if there is any damage from shipping please get in contact. If you live outside of Europe I would suggest purchasing the unframed print and supplying your own frame because shipping is a lot cheaper!
