My Background

My name is Daniel Long and I began my photographic journey at the age of 15, when I chose to study photography in school. I received an old Pentax film camera from my cousin, and in school we were taught how to develop our own film and pictures. This was the start of my passion and from there I upgraded to digital and continued my exploration.

My Focus

My house growing up had a large garden that I enjoyed exploring. Examining the plants, birds, insects, and trees of my home caused a grand appreciation of nature. This has become my primary focus in photography: to capture the beauty of nature in all its forms. So I take landscapes, wildlife, macro and plant photographs primarily, with some travel shots thrown in.

My Vision and Dreams

Among nature, I love to explore the world at large and I have had the pleasure to visit many countries, evident in my work. I hope that I can continue to travel and build my work. Exploring the natural environments and animals of distant countries. Photography is a way to capture the changes in the world, but it is also an everchanging discipline in itself. I hope that I have many years left to learn about the world and photography.
