Fed up with staying in the apartment, I decided to scout out some new landscape photography locations by hiking the hill from Como to Brunate. The view from the villages were fantastic and I was able to think about an image that I would like to get in the future…
A discussion about creating an authentic voice or style in youtube and in photography. I’ve been struggling with ways to make my youtube channel stand out and appear unique to myself, so I made this video where I discuss the ideas that I’m having and why it is difficult to find your own style.
I went straight to photograph the Temple Volta in the Park in Como, Italy today. I knew I wanted to get some landscape photography done with this temple as my subject both illuminated at night and with some natural light. The night images had to be created using exposure blending in Photoshop, but turned out brilliant. And I was treated to a very colourful sunrise!
Heading through Como once again, I couldn’t see any architectural compositions but once I made it to the park on the shores of Lake Como, I found my subject: the trees illuminated by the street lamps. The perfect subject for some black and white landscape photography. A great morning of photography!

The dramatic lighting of the street lights on the old Renaissance architecture leant itself to some interesting street photography. I made it to a viewpoint on Lake Como where I got some great classic landscape photography images.
An update on my plans for the future of my vlog, the big news that I’ve moved to Italy and will be pursuing landscape photography as well as wildlife photography in Italy in the near future. A simple little sunrise landscape photography excursion to Loch Garten. I try a different composition from what I have photographed in the past in attempt to combat the criticism of another photographer. There will be an upcoming video discussing the results soon.
A day of curiosity exploring a hidden valley on the west coast of Scotland for the landscape photography possibilities. Bizarrely the rain created a lot of opportunities and amazing conditions for landscape photography. A beautiful valley that I had never explored before resulted in some great images of the day!
During a day trip to Fort William in Scotland, Daniel was astounded by the changing light across the mountain landscape of Glen Nevis. Quickly getting out of the car and getting some images of the mountains, he decided to vlog this unexpected delight. Exploring the Glen for the first time, Daniel managed to find several images, and then before the light left, dashed quickly across to Corpach to photograph the iconic abandoned boat.
